Actually I monitor CR4118's voltage to determine whether it needs replaced
or not.
14 volts -OK

12 Volts - Replace

10 Volts - Bad

and there's a big wide replace area with skinny -OK / Bad sections if you
want to make a meter out of it....;-)

Yes replacing CR4118 will cover a multitude of problems/intermittants.
