I think a mixed team would be better, rather than concidering college-wise.. Then it will be technically (and other-wise also) sound..
I think once we have groups in each college it is the next logical step to have interactions with them. Or even better both of this could happen in parallel, choose the best approach (team per college or mixed team) for each workshop/action/project.
