For me it's all about the pedigree...ALL about the pedigree. Perhaps this
comes from my background in horses were bloodlines are king......perhaps it's
because I don't breed that much...and can't keep dogs just too experiment with
different breedings.....perhaps it's because as I get more educated in the
breed....I realize that quality produces quality over the long
haul......perhaps it's because I don't just want a show dog......I want a
history......perhaps it's because I haven't established a "type" in my breeding
program yet and I wouldn't be able to do that with a generic
pedigree......whatever it is......the pedigree comes first...without question.

good breeding partner for your bitch. You look up his pedigree and
BAM.........it's mediocre at best! Sure both his parents are champions,
but very average champions at that. But boy oh boy, they produced that
gorgeous male that you see in the center of the ring. So you inquire
about his litter mates to find out the quality of the rest of the
litter. You're told it was just him and his long coated brother who was
sold in to a pet home. Alright then. Do you forget about using this
gorgeous dog because of his pedigree or do you throw caution to the wind
and hope for a few that look like him? Barbara
