Sure.

Although I've sort of gotten to the point where I don't like
stationary. It looks cool when you first start playing with it...but
some of the stationary I've gotten renders the message almost
unreadable....too much background.

  | | I know with Outlook, even inserted items come up as
  | | attachments. Even though
  | | its actually in the mail and in the body it doesn't look as
  | | an attachment, in the HEADER info, it shows as an
  | | attachment, and hence can be used in rules.
  | |
  | | You may need a much better mail client. Of all the mail
  | | clients I've tried,
  | | and Keyboard Cowboy can tell you I've used a lot (he's the
  | | one who got me into this one I am going to tell you about
  | | now), Pocomail (or now the new PIM version, called Barca)
  | | does the best job with rules to handle attachments. You
  | | should pick yourself up the trial and give it a whirl.

  | |
  | | That doesn't work with inserted items--does it? I use OE
  | | and on a certain list continually get inserted stuff that
  | | makes for large files. Sometimes I
  | | find I get 4 or 5 + of these large downloads on one try.
  | | Does no good to say
  | |
  | | anything....sighhhh. Which means I have to use a mail
  | | program to stop it at
  | | the server.. I finally found eremover. I hate to use that--
  | | keep forgetting but if I don't sometimes there are a whole
  | | pile of BIG files...And I found that with OE you can't stop
  | | the delete UNTIL you do the download.... ----- Original

  | |
  | |
  | | Several things you can do... although, they're not always
  | | the most convenient methods. "Convenient" to me is just
  | | hitting forward, not fiddling
  | | with all the header stuff. We talked about being able to
  | | put in a bogus FROM
  | | address. Well, you can always put in a modified email
  | | address. For example,
  | | if my address is sirtroth@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, I can instead put
  | | for the FROM field sir_troth@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or
  | | sirtroth_DO_NOT_REPLY@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx This way, the
  | | recipient will know its you, but can't reply by just
  | | hitting REPLY.
  | | Further, forwarding to a million people won't necessarily
  | | get you on their lists. But... this is protects from people
  | | hitting the FORWARD and REPLY buttons. Any common sense
  | | person can just look at it and figure out the address. This
  | | just makes it harder.
  | |
  | | Of course, every situation tends to need a specific
  | | solution. Awhile ago, I
  | | had someone who continued to forward me mpeg joke clips.
  | | While the majority
  | | of the clips were 2MB to 4MB in size, some were almost
  | | 10MB. Being that my old Mindspring is only 10MB max, AND I
  | | receive a ton of email regularly, I really didn't need to
  | | have this "junk" mail sent. Not to mention, that on many
  | | occasions I check my mail from work, on a "dial-up".
  | | Regardless of how
  | | many times I told this idiot (who was a personal friend of
  | | mine in real-life) he continued to send them. He would say
  | | OK, and then send. The way I stopped it?... I set up a rule
  | | on my other mail client that when there
  | | was "any" mail from this guy that contained an attachment,
  | | it would forward
  | | it back to him 5 times, each with the attachment PLUS a
  | | message telling him
  | | the mail bounced because I do not accept attachments. To
  | | me, it was a nice auto setup. To him, it was inconvenient
  | | and annoying, and baffled him why it
  | | was bouncing. He actually believed it to be coming from the
  | | mail server, a true bounce. Result? It finally stopped.

  | | I like to share with my relatives but some of them are

  | |
  | | and - the reason that you wouldn't want your address

  | | Right.. well, its just masking it, but the email addy still
  | | goes with the
  | | mail... whether its in the FROM field or REPLY-TO field.
  | | But... most ISP's

  | | So, you can pretty much put any address in there, and it'll
