I've been on the net too long... I've warned everyone to not send me jokes anymore. I might the occasional really hilarious "small" movie clip, or audio or joke or whatever. But, nothing near the amount I received when I first started and was gung-ho about email and had the entire world forward me jokes. :o) ---Troth -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Cris Sent: Thursday, March 03, 2005 10:56 AM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: when sending emails. This has happened to me also. I received a reply(s) from someone I don't know - to a joke that I sent to someone that I did know. I just don't send that many jokes out anymore. That helps solve the problem! I used to write to them to tell them what they did, but I don't bother anymore. Your point is good but I send jokes to people who forward my email address because they do not know how to cut and paste or forward without cutting addresses, AOL People seem to have a particular problem with this for some reason. So I have been writing from a throwaway address lately (hotmail rather than my main address, maybe I will go to gmail for this since hotmail is rather slow and balky sometimes). Someone I did NOT know actually answered one of the jokes I had sent to someone on my list. By accident --but that means my address is being sent out to potentially thousands of people. I have requested several times that they not forward my messages but cut and paste but I continue to get hundreds of email addresses forwarded to me so I know they are not cutting them out. Since there are a few people who reply it is not practical to send an address that is completely anonymous.
