Although I do enjoy jokes... sometimes, and if they are really funny <g>... I think just too much junk is being passed on indiscriminately. Unfortunately, people just don't realise the harm that can come from forwarding and opening everything they receive. That is how you get put into spam lists and get all those pesky little virii, not to mention cyberspace congestion <vbg> Another thing I hate is when people find a funny website that offers to send and invite to "your friends"... they fill in your addy and presto you are on that website and heaven knows what else's list! This has happened to me also. I received a reply(s) from someone I don't know - to a joke that I sent to someone that I did know. I just don't send that many jokes out anymore. That helps solve the problem! I used to write to them to tell them what they did, but I don't bother anymore. Your point is good but I send jokes to people who forward my email address because they do not know how to cut and paste or forward without cutting addresses, AOL People seem to have a particular problem with this for some reason. So I have been writing from a throwaway address lately (hotmail rather than my main address, maybe I will go to gmail for this since hotmail is rather slow and balky sometimes). Someone I did NOT know actually answered one of the jokes I had sent to someone on my list. By accident --but that means my address is being sent out to potentially thousands of people. I have requested several times that they not forward my messages but cut and paste but I continue to get hundreds of email addresses forwarded to me so I know they are not cutting them out. Since there are a few people who reply it is not practical to send an address that is completely anonymous.
