The Eugene Wednesday bird group went to the west side of Alton Baker
Park and walked to the radio tower pond and back near the garden plots.
Along the river there was a great amount of bird activity, including two
Red-breasted Sapsuckers, Downy Woodpeckers and Flickers. A Merlin flew
over the pond as it was being chased by two hummingbirds. Here is the
complete list.
Greater White-fronted Goose - one with some domestic geese near the
small pond at the west end.
Cackling Goose - a small group on one of the islands

Common Merganser - on the river
Ring-necked Pheasant - heard
