[mso] Word 2000 fail

G'day folks,
Our family is in chaos.School assignments derailed! Our Word 2000 suddenly
decided to disappear after it opened.
We removed it and tried to re-install our Word 2000 disc we received when we
bought the Windows 98 se 18 months ago. the brief burst of music played but
NOTHING else happened.It didn't open and no messages or error notices.
Can anyone advise us what is happening? Everything else on the computer is fine.
