Dian,
In answer to your suggestion about clearingout Temp etc.and rebooting as per
your article, I did it all but the Word 2000 disc still won't load.
Here are the previous details: This Compaq was purchased new Feb.2000, AMD
K6 - 2 at 500Mhz.8 GB and 64MB SDRAM which I had upgraded couple months ago
an extra 128MB.
It has Windows 98 se,Ms Works 2000 preinstalled and a Ms Word 2000 disc with
book and Product Key.There is no Office 2000 with it at all.
Word 2000 was installed, has worked satisfactorily all this time until last
week One of the boys went to open it to do assignments and it disappeared
instantly. After a few days we tried removing it and even used Smart
Uninstaller (but bits were left) and the disc wouldn't load up- no
messages, only a brief music bit and nothing at all happens.
The only strange thing happening is a message when booting up the computer
which says: unable to locate the dynamic link library Msnp32dll The system
cannot find the file specified. Some or all of the following feature is not
available:Microsoft Network. - whatever all that means!!
Well there it is - its a worry, to use Australian jargon. Thanks folks for
your assistance. Bob.
