Cullum Brown, Cullum Brown,
fish advocate about town,
guide to gobblers of the pipeline road,
sage on guppies,
knower of inter-tidal gobies.

Cullum Brown, Cullum Brown,
native to Hong Kong,
knows how rainbows preferentially shoal
and why bishops become bold.

Cullum Brown, Cullum Brown--
of "Discovery" reknown--
a man who can bridge that gap between hatcheries' practice
and conservation
or teach a goldfish
to do the limbo.

Quite the man-o
now in New Zealand-o.

Meanwhile, me?

When I put my binoculars down,
I scribble in the field book,
a note in my study of yellow buses,
which, at a certain hour,
like gold lions at water,
gather
and hefalump in my 'hood.
