I've used the windows7 sound recorder for a few things, and only real issue there is it's limited to .wma output files, but not sure if there's a major difference otherwise..?

Jean, I would like to test out that program and see if I would like it. Could you dropbox it to kimsansong@xxxxxxx? Thank you. -----Original Message----- From: audacity4blind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:audacity4blind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gene Sent: Friday, November 23, 2012 11:18 AM To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: new memberI use the old Microsoft Sound Recording program because of its ease of realtime editing. The program records using the wave format. I joined the files together using audacity and then used Audacity to convert the final file to Mp3. I may have done a little editing using Mp3 Direct Cut but I don't recall now if I did.The old Microsoft program can be used in Windows 7. Let me know if you wanta copy. But the actual quality of the audio itself, that is the sound quality ofthe voice is not dependent on the Microsoft program. the Microsoft programallows for easy real time editing but any decent recording program can produce a reasonable quality voice recording if you use a reasonably good microphone and file parameters that are adequate for reasonable sound. The microphone I use is a Radio Shack lapel microphone that sells for about twenty dollars. I have a microphone frame that I clip the microphone to. I clip it to the boom. the old broken micropyhone frame is more or less likea stereo headphone frame. I use the boom to keep the microphone near my mouth. I don't have it clipped to my lapel. I'm not sure how easy it would be to find the necessary parts to create something like that. I just happened to have an old frame that worked for that purpose. You may want to try a radio shack microphone that you can purchase from some stores that uses a headphone like frame with a boom. the microphone isn't as good but the sound should be good enough. I'm nottalking about a combination headphone microphone. I'm talking about just amicrophone on a headphone-like frame attached to a thin boom.Hi Jean I wonder if you tell me what tools you use to record this tutorial. I'd like its quality so much Thank you. Cuong Dang On 11/23/12, Kimsan <kimsansong@xxxxxxx> wrote:Jean, Thank you very, very much for this. I just completed listening to the audacity portion of your tutorial and I was able to do what I wanted to do. One subject discussed is how to select and delete material, which is specifically what you are asking about. Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kimsan" <kimsansong@xxxxxxx> To: <audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2012 4:54 PMHello: I just signed up to this list. I have heard over the years great stuff about audacity so I thought I would use it. Please keep in mind that I have only been using audacity for 10-minutes now so I am a beginner. Here is my question. I imported a file, I have a part of the audio that is a mess up, so how do I remove that part from the audio when playing it back? I'm using audacity 2.0 and jaws 14. Please provide clear and concise steps as I am new to this program. I am googling for tutorials from a blind perspective as we speak but if someone can get me started that would be awesome.
