I spent part of the day checking on various Lake Michigan spots. I started at
Sheboygan, hoping for the Avocets. Yes! There were 17 on the beach before
7:30 this morning, and still there three hours later when I returned.
Harrington Beach---end of D---had activity including a Red-necked Grebe, 3
Common Loons, 1 Red-throated Loon, 10+ Common Terns, 4 swallow species, and
lots of Bonaparte's Gulls, among others.
Fischer Creek and Kingfisher Farm were both quiet.
In Manitowoc county the F pond had single Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs and 7
Dunlins. These are the first shorebirds I have seen here in several years.
The Manitowoc impoundment has very good habitat, with 7 White Pelicans and 100+
Caspian Terns being the best. No shorebirds today.
Point Beach SF was quiet.
