A check of several spots along Lake Michigan yielded little activity.
Sheboygan was totally quiet---the northeast wind did not help. Fischer Creek
CP was likewise quiet. However the Manitowoc impoundment had activity. Of
note is the decrease in shoreline since I was last there, a few weeks ago. All
the birds were on the south end where the limited mud flats are. Present were
4 Little Gulls, 8 Bonaparte's Gulls, 45 Caspian Terns, Semip. Plovers (4) and
Sandpipers (8), 1 Least Sandpiper, Killdeer and a Merlin perched in a dead tree
at the other end of the impoundment. The Little Gulls provided excellent views
standing on the mud and then flying around the impoundment water. All 4 are
into their 2nd plumage.
