Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co, TN 02/03/04
Ring-necked Duck
Gadwall approx 120 as usual
REDHEAD 8 first I have seen there
Northern Shoveler 10
Green-winged Teal 5+

Virginia Rail: For nearly 2 years I have seen or heard Virginia Rails
at Standifer Gap Marsh every time I have tried, every month of the year.
This may be one of the best locations for VA Rails in the state.

Purple Finch: At home feeder, 1 m & 1 f, only my 2nd sighting this winter,
most years much more frequent (and no Pine Siskins, no Evening Grosbeaks)
