Standifer Gap Marsh, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN
April 17, 2006, 5:30 - 8:00 PM (evening)
American Bittern, 1
Least Bittern, 2
Green Heron, 1
Little Blue Heron, 1, our first ever at the marsh, flying around the marsh
for an hour or more
Wood Duck, 2, always seen at north end
Blue-winged Teal, 6+, still there, looking paired and territorial, watch
for nest
Virginia Rail, 3, likely nest location
Sora, 2
Wilson's Snipe, 1
Marsh Wren, 1 singing his heart out
David and Gloria Patterson
