What floors me is their "doe-eyed" innocence that I got a returned check they didn't know about. Their bank sends them a notice their overdrawn, and what check(s) were returned for NSF. They have notice, we get notice. No surprises. I've waited a week to see what happens, and always, i must initiate the contact. One lady was my old bank teller. She wasn't employed (house wife after a "disability"). Her check bounced. I got nowhere with her, dodging our calls. I knew her Govt check came on the first, direct deposit (she said originally). I waited til the first, calling the bank til funds were available, rushed down, got a cashiers check on her funds and deposited it in my acct. I bet she got a surprise, thinking that amount was still there for use. Good.I lost out on a five dollars my bank charged, I didn't get my fee, but I got the repair amount. I won. I'm starting a rule I heard of copying their DL, invoice and check, and other ID. Now,here in Fla if you have their addy and DL#, have sent them cert. mail, return reciept, and no response, just take everything to the sherriff. they sent this other girl a notice from them saying she has X days to come to my shop in person with the cash for invoice, charges for the bad check ,pay me and get a reciept . She has to take it to the sherriff's office and prove it was dealth with. orig bill: 55.00+30.00 return-charges. She had to face me! Humiliation is a good lesson.
