Hi CrisS, Nope I haven't installed the wmp 9, It won't work with win 98. I want
to stay with the wmp 6.4 if I can, I know I don't care for the 7.1. I said wmp
4.7 in my post, It should have been wmp 6.4.

Sincerely Yours,
Hank

have you installed the latest wmp 9 from windows update?

Windows Media Player 9 Registry Toolkit. Beware installing the new media
player
from Microsoft until you read this page!!! The new player limits your ability
to
send and receive stationery. If you choose to install the new player, you will
need the WMP9 Registry Toolkit to surmount these problems.

Hi, I have lost my sound to the WMP, all the other sounds work, Real Player,
The
mail sound and I can open the Windows recorder and play the wav files but if I
try to play them with the windows media player I get the error message .
Cannot
play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available (Error=40258). I
have
reinstalled the sound card drivers and the WMP 4.7 and the WMP 7.1 and I can't
get either to work, Same error. Anyone know what else I can try?

  Sincerely Yours,
  Hank
