From what I am reading here it is starting to sound like a code problem.
Have you downloaded the latest WMP9 codex?  It may be that the versions of
WMP you are using, does not have the right codex, so it can't play the audio
on those files you wish to see.

I would give that a try myself and see if it cures the problem.  Hope it

Have you checked all the settings in your WMP? I'm still running v7.1 here,
but if you go Tools/Options then look for the Formats header and see what is
ticked.. That said, it should still play the formats you mention if asked.
It does sound like you must be missing an audio codec, or WMP isn't reading
the codec. As someone suggested yesterday, uninstall the WMP you have and
re-install it...

Another thought-do you have WinAmp on your machine as well? If so, will that
play .wav files? If it will, then I'm sure an uninstall /re-install of WMP
will work.
