nothing for tools, options, file types??
What version did you say your are running? maybe someone else
is running that version and can look to see where they are.
I can't imagine it is that simple though -

your settings are set on wmp to view and hear those files?
maybe they are system resource hogs? (wishful thinking, huh?)
