Harry,
I too have fitted a taper to an extant Morse tapered hole, but it was on a
#5 taper! Used blackboard (PC: Chalk board) chalk to check the fit. Third
"test" I almost didn't get the taper out of the socket. Never had a taper
attachment so I always just blundered along with the compound. Thread
picking, I do all the time.
