I guess I will stick my oar in the water at this point also.

I have been temporarily diverted from finishing up the Climax wheel
pattern (work
got in the way). I will have the wheel centers cast in stainless, for
fluidity properties,
and add a steel tire. I am waiting for sample castings back for the
journal box pedestal,
bolster pedestal, and the journal box. these are being cast in steel.
 I am working on
laying out the crossbox, that holds the pinion in alignment with the
bull gear. The full sized
one commonly was cast in iron with out any liner on the axle. I have
not decided whether to use
bronze, iron, or fit bearing liners. I will still have the journal box
lid to do, a brake beam hanger,
and the bolster, but I can assemble the trucks without these, and will
when I get castings for
the a fore mentioned. I already have had steel castings made for the
skew bevel gears. It will be
nice to see something together.

Regards,

Doug
