Curious, I did this and found a reference to Cien. But there was no text
(that I could see) associated.

So I went to the O-Pro doc in the appropriate place, did a few 'remove all
styles' on line ends in that area, and Cien went!

I would interpret this as, you didn't look hard enough in the DDL for the font references. That is a bit harsh of me because DDL is not documented and even if it was you need to think like a programmer.

I think that save as DDL, reload DDL will recount the fonts.
But that looses any nice page layout etc.

No! It is a common misconception that Ovation Pro DDL is just like Impression DDF. It is not. DDL is supposed to be an exact representation of the document, pages, frames, pictures, the lot.

There are two pities about DDL, one is that it was done before XML became popular, and the other is that if the computers back then had been more powerful, DDL would have been the only option for saving documents.

Had I adopted DDL in 1995 I would have faced a bunch of whingers "oooh the documents are bigger than Impression and they load so slowly" - hence you're stuck with the horrors of a binary format 8-)

Plan C?
Would it be possible to put in a font name in the 'Find' dialogue?

Being able to search for text styles (which includes fonts) is a great idea. It is a major omission. However it would not necessarily help, because the font use may be somewhere that Find does not look.
