Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church
I pray your days of lenten journey are bringing you into greater
awareness of the presence and compassion of our Lord Jesus.
This next Sunday is our third worship service of Lent we will share
together.
When we drink from the water God is for us, we find we can leave behind
all that does not satisfy.
Where in our lives is there barrenness or non-productivity? Is the
barrenness due to a fallow season or to distraction and disobedience?
What do we need to tend to in our lives like a good gardener tending to
her garden? What might need pruning? What might need some mulching?
The scriptures we will consider are Isaiah 55:1-9; Luke 13:1-9; and 1
Corinthians 10:1-13. Thoughts from these passages will compose the
sermon, 'The body teaches about the soul.' We will also take communion
together and after the formal worship hour we will share in our
community meal.
There is opportunity for someone to help this coming Sunday as Greeter
and another to be in the nursery. If you would enjoy either of these
ministries please let me know before noon on Saturday.
