Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church
I pray you are finding a sense of reassurance as you anticipate the
embodiment of God's reign in the world.
Advent 3 calls us to conversion—to turn around the way things are
usually done. What needs conversion in our hearts, in our congregation?
Are we truly willing to receive the merciful, redemptive work of God in
our lives? Are we ready for change? God is turning us around toward
right living in our salvation. This is not a reason for anxiety; it is
reason to celebrate. When we live and walk in peace and justice, God
triumphs gloriously over the powers of oppression and fear.
This next Sunday is the deadline for making contributions to the
Children's Christmas Celebration sponsored by the Palestinian Conflict
Resolution Center in Bethlehem. Next week we will forward all funds
received so that Zoughbi will have them available to help finance this
year's program.
