This is because most of us blind are also hearing. If more of us blind were deaf as well perspectives would change. I would find it an unpleasant experience having to read for long periods a Braille display. It is fortunate as many deaf-blind can afford them at all, as they are so expensive to have, not to mention the cost of their maintenance I would think. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Derek Hornby" <derek.hornby_uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Dave says

increase remarkably."

Yes perhaps so, and then we end up with hardly any hardcopy Braille.

What happens when a Braille display fails?
Will it be repaired within few hours, no.
So how does one read Braille when they have no Braille display?

Of course, non of this matters does it if one doesn't depend on Braille
100%

This I suggest is the crux of issue that some blind people seem to take
the selfish view, as long as they are ok to access information that's all
that matters.

It is very tiring reading on a Braille display, for 2 3 plus hours,
compared to reading Braille hardcopy book.
