You hit the nail on the head.  Centimeters are fine, but you can't measure to 
the nearest milimeter, as you can with the talking variety.

I don't agree with you about the Braille tape measure not being accurate 
enough. Not sure what they are like in the UK but in france, the braille 
tape measures are very accurate because each centimeter is represented by a 
dot and lots of blind people round here use this one rather than a tape 
measure and I know quite a few blind handy people.
