Just to let people know my own thoughts on this one, I ordered one of those
new 12-minute digital memo recorders from RNIB. It arrived on Saturday, and
has gone back the same way! I found it tacky and of poor quality, and there
were no supplied batteries contrary to the instructions. The main problem
with this particular device is that there is no audible or other feedback
detection to alert the user when you are recording. So you might be taking
down an important message while on the phone, and find you haven't recorded
it.

I think this gadget costs £18.50, but I wouldn't give you 18p for it quite
honestly. It is also larger than I thought it would be.

Just my thoughts, others may find it extremely useful.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

There are quite a few pocket DAISY players out there at the moment and the
Milestone sounded ok. Don't suppose you can work out build quality from a
description though but I am hoping the new Olympus doesn't let us down, am
looking at that.

topic, I can never get a talking watch's battery replaced without the watch
dieing in no time, I even sent the last one back to rnib and I gotit back
and was told that the control cup was faulty, it sone of the radio
controlled ones and now the visual display displays one time and the voice
says another, think there's five minutes difference, the voice is correct
though thankfully. I had three calendar clocks from cobolt and all died
within two or three years, my talking microwave lasted about two years, my
parrot the same.
