Jackie,

I bought one of these; as they are supposed to be derived from a Bosche digital tape measure.... however it went haywire on the first measurement and had to be returned!!!

It should be returned soon, but it is very frustrating to have to do without something like that while it is fixed etc and if it is not measuring accurately, resulting the loss of materials.

Kindest,

Mike

Hi Mike

Caretec do a very good one. The voice, in my view, is better and not so intrusive, and I think its general quality is far superior for around the
same price.

Subject: [access-uk] Poor quality of equipment?

Hello all,

This is not strictly computer related, but involves accessibility
equipment....

Does anyone know of a good quality talking tape measure; other than the
Cobalt one?

I have two of these, and a year is about the most I can get out of both them, as they always end up giving spurious measurements- such as 2513
inches when the tape is fully retracted.

Replacing the battery etc does no good.

Do we have to put up with inferior quality materials every time?

Regards,

A disgruntled Mike
