correct, you have to pay for speech guidance on the N82 with v301 of OVI.
no idea what it costs, just click to buy and it tells you though, plenty of
time before its to late. so just give it a go.

the voice service which you pay for in OVI Maps v3.01 is indeed like that of
Access, you get this free of charge with OVI Maps v3.03 and higher.

When you say OVI maps worked out of the box, did you just install OVI maps on
your phone, without making any changes to settings, for it to work with TALKS?

worked out of the box for me with spoken announcements from the application
without any reference to additional charges.

I understand that I can use OVI maps as a gps solution to Access, on my N82,
but have also discovered that there is a charge from Nokia to use the speech
component of the software, so will Ovi maps work just with TALKS, as in
pedestrian mode under Access, or will I need to pay for the Nokia voicing
service? -
