There are 6 shows with 6 specialty judges in Monroe and the entry is under
30.
I see that the shows in Amana IA that same weekend with AB judges have a
much larger entry. I think you are right Tish the specialty shows are in deep
DO DO.
I think they will be a thing of the past.
The GSDC of Baton Rouge has decided they will no longer hold shows.
I am not sure what this will do for the GSDC of Louisiana. We have not made
a definite decision but more than likely we will either shut the club down or
maybe hold specialties in the evening with our AB shows. If we do this we
will pull judges from the AB panel and not use breeder judges.
It is sad times for the GSD breed.
The other breeds are not down like our breed. I just judged in Topeka. I had
72 Dobes and 50+ Boxers. As I judged I observed and I would say 80% of
those animals were presented by their owners. I think our breeds is more
expensive to show since most use handlers. Not to mention that GSD handlers
charge
more than most other handlers.
