Betty,
I am PROUD that you competed, and showed, bruises and all...a badge of
honor.
I am so very sorry that there is a faction amongst the fancy that is
annoyed, impatient, catty and rude, to newcomers and not-so -new people
trying to show their dogs in the ring, themselves.
It is an embarrassment to the sport. It is an embarrassment to decent human
beings.
We see this happen often, even to Juniors. It is criminal.
Funny thing is, the very people that are the most catty and nasty, would no
more be in the ring on their own dogs,
than the Man on the Moon. They couldn't , many of them, nor would they try.
But it doesn't stop them from
being nasty to those who DO try. I don't know if it is ignorance,
arrogance, or they feel threatened...
maybe a combination.
With as few "new" people as we have in the wings, we should all be
cognizant how sensitive
owners and new folks may be in the ring...or out.
To the people that hurt your feelings, I say SHAME ON YOU and go look in a
mirror...perhaps
you are not as wonderful in the ring , or out of it, as you may wish to
believe? Perhaps they should try themselves sometime, it may clarify things
for them. If those that did this are ring regulars, then they need to
remember they also started as newcomers, and they are not getting any
younger.
Don't quit Betty, don't let the ba**ards get you down.
