I bought a 4:3 HDTV (ready) TV a few years ago because it was much cheaper than the same area or even width screen in 16:9. On recent shopping trips I've observed this still seems to be true. But I'll probably get a 16:9 next time unless the price premium is just too insulting that I can't make myself do it. - Tom Mark Schubin wrote: >> >>Am I the only person who has noticed that all HDTV sets (by definition) are >>16:9 and that SDTV sets are 4:3 by default? >> > > I think you will find that virtually all 27-inch, 32-inch, and 36-inch > TV sets that are said to be HDTV have 4:3 screens.
