About 95% of all users "don't do anything but surf and email." And most of them don't actually use email either - they use the web. The highest bandwidth usage by far is web-based video.

Most people whom I hear saying "email," when questioned turn out to mean "Facebook." Even the word "Internet" as used today actually means "web."

Meanwhile, Windows has a higher share <https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=10&qpcustomd=0> (87%) of the desktop than at any other time in history - and Linux (1.7%) isn't even in the game - it has less than it ever did.
