A very nice choice in DSLR cameras, and David I am sure will attest.  It 
would be hard to improve on that choice unless you had some very specific 
tasks in mind where a different format sensor might be a better choice. 
Just switch to manual or A or S modes (What ever your preference is), and 
set the other paramaters to remove as much of the automation as you wish 
(multiple frames, Auto ISO, etc), select RAW or JPEG as you wish (more or 
less time in front font of the computer) and ignore most of the rest.

do keep the antishake magical power activated.  I would love to have that 
feature with my lenses.

I wonder how David deals with the autofocus points in his action shots.  A 
PITA on my Canon.  Or maybe he just prefocuses in manual focus mode.
