Heed the words of the wise...

I am beginning to do the same thing.  Problem is, my kids are pack rats
too!  I need to clear every disposal with them.  For the vinyl, my
younger son has asked me to set aside all the Pink Floyd and Beatles
albums for him.  The rest is good to go. 

Our next house will be much smaller.  I'm giving myself 5 years to empty
this one...

Oh...and if you're holding on to stuff to hand down to your kids that
AREN'T heirlooms, they will toss the stuff when you're dead. Do you
really think your children want to be burdened with a worthless vinyl
and 8-track tape collection? My kids don't even like the music I have on
vinyl.
