b) Of course, but full-text indexing is a long-established and well- understood domain with many implementations and I am assuming one of these could be adapted for use. BFS would delegate the indexing and querying to another application upon creation/deletion/update of an appropriate node which is analagous to how full-text indexing works in a database. This is what I mean by *relatively* easy.

OTOH if someone wishes to implement their own lexical analyser then I agree it would very complicated and arduous.
