For example one time he challenged me about my contract in the public
IRC channel, he stated that
he knew why my contract wasn't extended. He said that it was because I
didn't have any API (false).
At some point in this same discussion he mentioned that PulkoMandy
decided that my contract it
wasn't worth. I think this is a case where he just wanted to get me
upset. Mostly because I clearly
remember PulkoMandy being positive about my work.

And I obviously have no decision in that, because I'm not part of the Inc.
I've been bit by the management problems in the Inc (in my case it was "we
don't know if we can pay
you next month, you have 15 days to find another job"), and waddlesplash
with his work on the package
builbdbot had some issues as well. So please do not set yourself as a lone
victim here. You may more
strongly remember your own case because you got through it personally, but
it is not the only contract
which ended up this way. You do not know what the situation was for other

It was introduce to review
external contributors work. I already told you many times, that I don't
remember that decision
being taken, and that I like much more ml reviews. I also told you that
if a vote was done that
decided that, I'd be OK as long as *everyone* was forced to use it.

I think you are making the whole thing about reviews much bigger than
what it is, yes I behaved
badly with you in a discussion, I already asked sorry. I can't do more
than that.

It is not mandatory, but you are not understanding what it's useful for.

In short: review allows other people to explore your code and understand
it. You can't complain that
we don't understand your code if you don't make the effort to educate us
(I already discussed this with you)
and I find code review is a great tool for that.


There are some things I repeated until nausea, but still people seems to
forget each time.


If you chose to not use it, or if you decide to ignore
comments from people reviewing your changes


I never ignored comments, if any, the problem we are debating is exactly
the opposite...


or get into useless fights with them, you are making sure no
one will read, therefore understand, your code.


The inverse also apply. If you make only style or irrelevant comments each
time, maybe someone gets tired of it?
Not that's an excuse, as said I'm and I've improved in dealing with it.

I'm guilty of having a bad discussion, after being accused of being
unpolite from someone who actually was unpolite with me.


You gave it yourself in your previous mail, there was that discussion with
Jua about latency, and
there were a few other cases.


Another time it seems you don't read what I wrote, little to comment here,
sorry.
