In my previous message, I gave you the keystrokes that would get you
to the "Formatted Braille Importer..." by the shortest possible route.
Try the following:

1. Open DBT.

2. Press the key combination <ALT+G> to open the "global" Menu.
or
press the <ALT> key to go to the "menu Bar", then press the letter <G>
key to go to the "Global" menu. Your screen reader should say
"Global" which is the name of the menu. Your screen reader should
then say "Embosser Setup... CTRL-f11" which is the first option in the
"Global" menu.

3. Press the <DOWN ARROW> key until you hear your screen reader say
"Formatted Braille Importer...".

4. Press the <ENTER> key to open this sub-menu.

5. Press the <TAB> key to go through all of the choices in the menu.

6. If you hear your screen reader say "Read formatted braille without
interpretation" and your screen reader tells you that the check box is
unchecked, press the <SPACE BAR> to check it.

7. If your screen reader does not tell you that there is such an
option, then that option does not exist in the version of DBT that you
are using.

8. If the option does not exist, you can accept DBT's defaults for
the importation of a .BRF file or, you will have to manually set the
place where page numbers are to be placed on the page, characters per
line and number of lines per page, yourself.

9. It is very important that you know how many characters there are
>> per line and how many lines there are on each page. E-mail the
>> organization that runs the web site and ask them for the values they
>> set for their publications that are downloadable from their web site
>> then, make the necessary changes in the "Global: Embosser Setup..."
>> menu.

10. When you have imported the file, you can then press the <CTRL+T>
key combination to back transcribe the file to a print format and your
screen reader will hopefully be able to read the text to you.

I hope that the above information helps you further.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
