Nice.  Then probably FAM is a better and wider model for monitoring.

I had troubles with spurious notifies from dnotify, i.e. when a file
is modified several notifies occur.  I solved that by waiting a
fraction of a second from the last notify and *then* act on them
(after eliminating duplicates etc.).  Is this also an issue with FAM?

The STDIN approach is just the first and most quick to implement thing
that came to my mind.  It's no endorsement. :-)
