With NIMH batteries, you really do get excellent battery life. This is a great
compromise between long life and
economics. Also, I do feel like I'm doing something that's environmentally
sound, as others have stated. It's perfectly fine
to recognize the things we do that are good for the environment, while also
recognizing that we engage in some
activities that are not great for the environment but which make our lives much
better. Since using lots of Alkalines
wouldn't make my life better than using NIMH's, I choose the more
enviornmentally and economically friendly alternative.
<grin> But the point is that if you've only tried the BP (or anything else)
with Nicad batteries, consider trying NIMH
batteries. They do last much longer, and they work well with the book port. I
use the BP for lots of audio, and I get hours
and hours on a single charge.

The issue is, you have to change rechargeables more frequently.

Slightly more frequently, but as I said, I've used them for more than 20
years and have saved
hundreds of dollars
