That is odd, I have my bookport cable connected through a hub and it is working fine, I originally did not have it that way but on a USB port on the front of the machine but having that cord where it was made me move it to the hub and it works just fine. My friend had the same type problem until the hub was taken out and the connection was made right to the CPU. Not sure why but the direct connection worked while the hub did not.
