I think the sound you heard was coming from the computer, not from the Book
Port. There's no way that a sound file on the Book Port could play over your
computer unless you run a connection from the Book Port's headphone jack to
the line in jack of your computer's sound card.

Do you have any other USB devices such as an external drive, thumb drive,
etc., connected to your computer? This might interfere with the ability of
Windows to properly connect. Also, as someone else mentioned, if you're
using a USB hub and not connecting the Book Port directly to your computer,
try a direct connection instead.

Hi,
I have windowsXP on my computer. Some times I get some sounds The last time
I tried to connect the book port a sound file on the book port played over
the computer. I have re installed the soft ware it won't work . Are there
any other steps not on the manual for trouble shooting this problem?
Thanks,
