That is some great data Brian. Thank you for posting it! For what it's worth, recently I found that the winds at Anderson Mesa are a fair proxy for generally exposed sites within some tens of miles: http://www.lowell.edu/~buie/weather/wxall.html If there's a hiccup with connectivity at the Mesa end, this page may not get updated for a day, but as long as things run smoothly, then it'll work for now. On the wind-speed panel of this display, the purple wiggly line is the 5-minute average wind speed. The grey areae shows the general extrema, with instantaneous peaks showing as 'grass' at the top of this. Average speeds over 10 mph is rather windy, similarly 'bottom of the grass' maxima over 20 mph indicates pretty windy conditions. For visual observing, you don't wanna see the average over 3-4 mph. \Brian -- See message header for info on list archives or unsubscribing, and please send personal replies to the author, not the list. -- No virus found in this incoming message.
