Summer drones on as the 10 birders on this morning's Huntley Meadows Monday
Birdwalk endured another hot, humid, sunny day. These stalwarts counted only
34 species - a count, again, noted for what wasn't spotted as much as for what
was. Again today there were no Canada Geese, no Herons, no Mallards, and only
one lone shorebird. However, some highlights did occur: a Northern Parula was
seen near the tower. a Coopers Hawk flew over the wetlands, and 3 White-eyed
Vireos were easily seen darting in and out of willow trees on the north side of
boardwalk.
