This morning's Huntley Meadows walk was attended by 13 birders who tallied 53
species. It was warm and sunny, with a slight breeze - a very pleasant walk.
Highlights include sighting 5 of the 6 woodpecker species found at Huntley in
the summer, and a majestic view of a low flying Bald Eagle over the wetland.
But the true highlight was the very generous breakfast prepared for the Huntley
birders by John and Barbara Perry in their home following the walk. A
delicious meal from good friends. Thanks, Barbara and John!

The Monday Morning birdwalk has been a weekly event at Huntley Meadows since
1985. It takes place every week, rain or shine, at 7 AM, is free of charge,
requires no reservation, and is open to all. Birders meet in the parking lot
at the Park's entrance at 3701 Lockheed Blvd, Alexandria, VA. For questions
