I am resending this message since I think I sent it to the Ethernet or some unknown place!

Chuck,

Thanks for the helping hand.

I took a look at both of Office Depot and Staples as you suggested.
I looked for a Quad core and 64 bit, assuming that is what I need.

It seems like those 2 specs place units in the $500 $600 range. HP was the desktop that kept showing up in that price range. To drop down in price it looked like I would have to drop down to the duel core like you said you have. There were some other units that had better specs, but they either had Win7 Basic or Vista OS, and I could tell if with the Vista units I would get the free Win7 upgrade, so I ruled them out.

I have referenced a couple examples below.

_*So a couple of questions:*_
Is this what I should consider a good buy at if I were to go with a fully loaded unit?

Do I need to shave off any of the specs to drop down to a lower price and still retain a strong unit?

And can one depend that a refurbished unit wouldn't be a head ache?

Thanks for the help.

_*OFFICE DEPOT:*_

A couple of weak spots:

==============

and Brian..... take a look at the deals Staples and Office Depot are offering... besides Dell and HP sites..... know you can easily pick up a very nice working pc for lot less that what you are talking about,,,,and another thing..... you are naming the priciest cpu Intel has..... drop back to the i5 and be doing same speed..... lots less bucks..... and also 64 bit programing works lot faster than 32 and you wont need all the hotshot high cost stuff to make it go..... I am using a HP box with a dual core chip running 1.8 ghz and 64 bit.... 4 gig ram... an its fasy with win7 pro..... does all one may want and easy to use.... big fast fancy rigs are ok.. but need to take a long look at what do you want it all for...... programing makes for lots of the response in the machine.... so if its a decent speed can really afford better programing and have better results .... chuck...in Ok
