RUGers,

I am getting tired of the nattering about the 40mm Distagon for the Rollei 66 series. It is a monstrously large and heavy setup. Imagine 11 elements and all the attendant glass-air surfaces. Plus the price-- 3 Kilobuks.

For less than that, I have a Hasselblad SWC-M with 38mm Biogon and film magazine that weighs less than the aforementioned 40 mm Distagon alone. The Biogon is the undisputed leader in that focal length range for 6x6cm negatives.

No, Marc--- It is not offered for sale!

Jim, there is nothing "native" about that transparency. The mismatch between life and the contrast limitation of the medium is glaring. Had you shot negative or digital, the result would have been dramatically different.

I think this is a 'Like DUH' statement!

Your preferences/interpretation is another matter... All I can say is there is no accounting for taste ;-)

Well... you certainly got me here. Obviously, all of my 'taste', is in my mouth!

Eric,

Please clip your messages.

Your lust for digital is overwhelming. In light of your rather stern views, I am certain that we shall all immediately dump our film cameras and get only digital gear hereafter.

Be well,

Marc
