Too true. When playing up my DVDs these days I now encode them with anamorphic mode and and/or run them through post processing filters to push them up to 720p -- I just can't tolerate watching anything at a lower resolution. Every upconverting DVD player I have tried just comes out looking horrid. I refuse to go BluRay because it won't play on my HTPC without considerable hacking/pain. Even Netflix non-HD movies look soft. I cringe to think how horrid 240p would look on a 110" screen from 8ft. :-) Cheers Kon ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
