I'm sorry, that doesn't count for s**t. What type of antenna? A folded dipole? You didn't try to help her? Can she see transmit sites from her apartment? Does she have an internal or external apartment? Has she tried to put a 3dB pad in the input line? Oh, I'm sorry, you didn't realize (nor did she) that the problem with 8VSB in urban environments is TOO MUCH SIGNAL and not too little? Kind of funny on that one, since I've been saying that for the better part of a decade. And, I've tested the hypothesis, as well. Did she ever, say, talk to an antenna installer, instead of the spokes-babe at Radio Snack? Did she try a window-mount antenna? Would she try that if her life depended on it? Is this the extent of your investment in actually serving people with over the air digital media? If so, it tells a lot. By the way, this ISN'T EVEN AN OUTLYER. Note that she can get 3, 5 or 6 NTSC channels in a market with about 40 of them. The varying amount is quite interesting. She has virtually no NTSC service, and just a bit less in the way of 8VSB service. Mark Schubin could receive more than 22 NTSC stations, and 8VSB only my moving his indoor antenna. It's plainly vainglorious to compare your daughter's situation to his, or Cliff's. Bob, you live in a house of cards. One little waft, and it all blows down. She has a 2006 42" Philips Plasma and no cable. I convinced her to try OTA with a Radio Shack antenna. She has repositioned her antenna near the window 3 or 4 times and done scans. So far she has found 3, 5 and 6 NTSC channels but no digital ones. Another outlyer. Now we have three. Next February we will have a few more.
