Possibly yeah...

C/C++ is difficult to pick up as a beginner but not impossible.

It is a lot of hard work compared to another language such as C#
because you'll have to learn a lot more all at once.

It depends on how much work you want to put forward.

If you want a road of pain and torture, start with C++, else I'd
personally suggest doing XNA with C#.

If you are up to the challenge, totally go the C++ route and don't
look back, but if you are doubting, you might try C# and see how you
like it.

My 2 cents anyhow!
